day out with yong hwee & joanne

today, i went to Jusco to meet with Yong Hwee & Joanne ;-) joanne had a 4 hour break in between her classes so Jusco seemed to be the nearest place to go. we had lunch at secret recipe...

chai chai is still ok... according to mummy, he has lost weight cos he is stressed out :( cos his mama left him & he has a tick invasion... his maid don't remove it properly & his gardener hasn't come in a while... sigh...

Yong Hwee is back from aussie! she's been there for what seems like forever so i bangun awal to accompany her for breakfast *which is rare for shynn* lol we went to sin hoe garden cos yhwee was craving nasi lemak...

before we got out of the car, yhwee ask me to open pressie :-)

we wanted to go to pasar malam, but it rained! it got heavy when yong hwee dropped me home... when i got out of the car, it rained big drops! then hor, super babi lor... now the sun is up! after i finish mandi...

sausage making & makan 2.0

today was sausage making day, but i wasn't invited cos Big D thought i got no Gmail account =_= so by the time i woke up, sausage making had already started half way!

so anyway, since we had sausage, again it was my duty to make a meal out of em... i spent the night before picking my brain (aka Google) on different side dishes which would go with sausages using existing ingredients in my house.

finally decided on braised cabbage, never knew mat salleh ppl eat cabbage as a non salad-ish dish ok...


i got the yellow pepper from last week, better finish it even if the recipe dun call for it!

super easy - dump the carrots & onions on the arranged cabbage, add EVOO, chic stock, S&P

mushroom risotto

shen ai's risotto rice - usually risotto is super hard work, stirring & spooning etc...

O, the cabbage - bake for 2 hours, turning in between, remove foil & bake for 15 mins

it'll look like this & taste fantastic! season to taste & add a splash of balsamic vinegar

back to my risotto - it's super easy! just dump everything in...

add boiling stock - 1 cup risotto : 2.5 cups stock - bake for 30 - 45 mins

i didn't burn them this time, nyekekekek!!!

dinner is served! mix in some herbs in the risotto & sprinkle pine nuts & cheese on it :-)

superb combination! i added honey & garlic to the sauce since the sausage was spicy...

wow! we finished all the risotto man! lol

& Big D finished all the rest of the food, keheheh...

it was delicious & this time, i cooked just nice as there were amazingly NO LEFT OVERS!!! lol... everytime, no matter how yummy the food is, no matter how hard we try, there will always be left overs, but not today! & mummy loves my risotto cos she says it's not jelaking ^.^v

My guppies got babies ^.^v

my guppies gave birth ;-) so happy, but by the time i noticed them, i only managed to get 3 :( i have no idea how many of them were there in the 1st place... it happended like this. I woke up & looked at them as usual, was about to feed them when i saw tiny fish! OMG! 2 tiny fishies!!! hurray!!!! faster look at the mummy fish, still look like normal only wo... hurriedly, i took the net & took all the biggies out.

I got my nursery tank (ex prawn tank) & started scooping out the babies, there were 3, so cute de ^_^v

i was super duper excited this morning that i did not drink my coffee which i intended to until 1.5 hours later! awaiting more babies :-) but my fishie mummy all look same only, dun look thinner or fatter also :(
