teriyaki chicken

today i made teriyaki chicken... it's rather famous in my house cos it was like the official chicken dish we had for festive celebrations involving chicken. Christmas - teriyaki BBQ chicken. Birthday - teriyaki wings. Celebration - tori teriyaki. Ang Mo food - Baked teriyaki chicken again... lol so much so that mummy bought me a 2.5 liter bottle of jun mai sake ;-)

it had been marinated overnite in my secret teriyaki sauce obtained from yahoo some many years ago :-)

anyway... i found this lady selling kuih keria by the road side quite a while ago last year, or so... anyway, hers is the rare yummy ones available for sale at a roadside price. coated with a rich layer of gula melaka & soft inside. delicious! one day, there was no kuih keria... another day, also no kuih keria!!! when asked... the kuih keria lady (the one who actually makes it) was on MC.... real long time man... like few months. then today, i drove pass the stall & saw they had the wheel like kuih but i already overshoot, so i stopped quite far & WALKED to the shop. they cost 40 cents a piece, i bought 10 for mummy & Big D too... i paid RM4 but the lady gave me back RM1.. funny... so i quickly walked back to the car :-)

when i opened the bag... it looked different.. smaller. ok lo, 30 cents per piece kua...

Oh NO!!! wat happened to the gula melaka???? ok lo... 30 cents per piece now gua.....

haiya!!! & i WALKED to the stall to buy it lagi :( anyway, mummy concluded that the original lady who made the kuih keria had died already. so now got pirated version. smaller, no gula melaka & not tasty enough :-( why why why..... it still taste slightly better than others we tried, but not as nice as the original one!!!!
