i l♥ve daiso!

i love daiso!!! this RM5 shop from Japan like a mini paradise, lol... daiso 1st opened in melaka @ pahlawan last year (or 2 years ago?) i think... anyway, now there is another daiso @ aeon jusco :-) the one in jusco is owned by jusco & the one in DP is owned by tlc... so there are some stuffs u can get at DP daiso but are not available in Jusco & vice versa...

i'm crazy over bag hangers!!! this made me ♥ daiso even more!!! i bought a pink one, lol

daiso in jusco is big!!!


florence had been looking for a 2 level wine opener since forever & has yet to find it! we went to specialty shops & all but i found it in daiso!


i also bought this pan to pour the gravy over my hot plate so my hand don't kena sizzled :)


i got a pair of thinning shears too, for my fringe... & a whole lot more of other things :)


Daiso is so nice... i can spend hours in daiso! & i don't mind going from one daiso to another & spending another few hours there ^_^v apart from selling super kawaii things at RM5, daiso also sells really cool new innovative thingies. like i saw this shoe stand, that helps u save space & at the same time don't squash ur shoe... mascara reviver which disolves hardened mascara. green tea from japan at only rm5!!!! 私はdaisoを愛する!!!!

2.40

2.40 is a place in bukit beruang (gosh i sound like wikipedia!) its registered name is cahaya dinar but its given name is 2.40 :-) simply because somebody had 2 cups of milo ice amounting to RM2.40 there some 8 years ago & did not pay! so it stuck ever since :) 2.40.... we would go there for makan after tuition, we would go there even though we left St David's & we still go there whenever one of us come back from UK, Bali or Australia ^_^v


2.40, kinda quiet today... during our time, tonnes of MMU students can be seen here...

yup, Yong Hwee's going back :( it seemed like she just arrived last week rite... i told her to call in sick & stay for another week, lol... she said she hopes to come back during CNY... that's another wat? 7? 8 months?? sigh....

sizzling attempt #2

i had planed to try out my hot plate soon after the 1st attempt of sizzling did not last long, this time, i had a plan.. hehehe :-) but before that, when i woke up today, barely even had time to comb my hair before i spotted a present for ME ^^v

ferrero rocher! given by Po Po who is so grateful i keep Chai Chai entertained while she is away ^_^ none for shen ai!!! hahahah :)


so anyway, i also made chinese corn & tofu soup today...

this corn is so yummy! it's much better than those stupid frozen corn & no hassle like those corn on cobs :)


this time i'm making the soup fully in my morries, since there's only 3 of us... add tofu & all the ingredients + seasoning + an egg... i forgot to put wine!! also forgot to garnish it =_=


for the tofu, i had carrots & ginger slices simmered with garlic


leeks, strawmushrooms, oyster sauce, pepper...


& prawns!!! hehhe... make sure it's hot when i pour onto the hot plate :)

well, the sizzling this time was more impressive :-) i'm gonna buy a small pot with a handle like a giant scoop thingie for easy heating & pouring :) i'm hoping i can find one at the RM2 shop, hehhe... however, Big D said that if i want it to sizzle longer, i gotta half the portion of stuff i dump onto the plate cos the large amount of food prevent it from sizzling =_= i gotta get a giant hot plate!

today, my mother barged into my room while i was STILL SLEEPING! she started shouting so i would get up... she made such a commotion till i had no choice but to open my eyes cos ignoring her would just make her voice level even more unbearable! yea mummy, i know you'll read this! lol, u must be so honoured that i'm gonna make u a celebrity ^^v hehehe, so anyway, mummy wanted me to tag along with her to Jusco :) so ok lor... even though i had already went yesterday & didn;t have anything in particular which i wanted from there... mana tau... when reach there, mummy ask me to try on this, try on that...

since mummy din buy anything, she pestered me to go to tesco! NO WAY MAN! i'm not going to TESCO!!! of all places =_= so, mummy brought me to Jusco (the new one) lol... then mummy did the same thing, gave me the illusion that my birthday was coming soon & i'll get a present from her...

soondooboo jigea

i love korean food :-) it is all so yummy, ever since we watched Da Chang Jin on TV (long time ago) we just HAD to try out korean food! to our surpirse, it was extremely yummy! we often go to Tok Su Gong cos the boss is a korean lady who is really nice. the food there is authentic & taste better than Korean House. so i'm making soondooboo jigae today... soondooboo is the type of beancurd used, similiar to japanese silken tofu & jigae is soup, or stew...


i needed beef broth cos i dun wanna use pork... i boiled this yesterday...

remove all oil


poggi kimchi - poggi is whole & mat is cut kimchi, basically ingredients are the same but you pay extra RM2 for the cutting!

roughly chop the kimchi & add it to the beef broth... add some kimchi juice too :)


leeks - sliced


silken tofu - the soondooboo :)


the original recipe called for 8 clams, but what difference would 8 clams make? i use froze, deshelled clams, never use canned, they suck!


add gochukaru - korean chili powder


& gochujang - korean chili paste


let it boil till volcano like then turn off the fire


crack in an egg & close the lid


serve immediately! shit la, the steam got onto my leica lens!


then stir to make sure the yolk mixes with all the rest of the soup :)


so simple, yet so yummy!


i like soondooboo jigea a lot, compared to kimchi soup, i like it more ^^ a simple korean meal would just consist of this soup & a bowl of white rice with banchan :)
