breakfast at Kampar - 25.05.09

Kampar Grand Hotel has the "grandest" breakfast in the world. If not for the breakfast spread & lousy service, i'd rate the hotel as pretty decent. we were entitled to 4 breakfasts, included in the package. We asked if we could have another breakfast for a 5th person, the receptionist said we'd had to pay RM16, which is walk in rate, hmph! no in house rate, banyak babi. Since it's RM16 in a this kind of hotel, we'd expect an ok breakfast. not a full american international spread, but maybe a malaysian spread or at least a decent spread. I purposely woke up early lagi to go makan their breakfast ok...So anyway, upon reaching their wonderful coffee house, they failed straight away - no hostess, no greeter. A waiter was behind the bar area but ignored us. Nobody showed us to our seats, nobody bothered about us. Me, Bid D & the brat went for breakfast 1st while mummy & the bro came later due to toilet arrangements.

Breakfast starts at 6.30am, but by 7am, the egg station fryer had yet to arrive. The sole waiter only gave us our coffee when I asked if i had to pour it myself. By then, he didn't bother to ask how many diners were in our party, or if we were room guest, or anything else. Then mummy & the bro came, they could just walk in & join us!

Do It Yourself mee curry - not yummy.

so called teo chew porridge with limited topings.

sambal, fried rice & beehoon that cannot swallow, ok only french toast & potatoes.

bread & jellies.

Mango & guave juice. they had cereals too.

food was horrible! even the hong kong groups that dine in RMH, 5 star RM15 also get better food! service was bad too, but on the bright side, we didn't have to pay for the extra person cos there was no service, nobody bothered about us. We still have the dining voucher for 4! the bro didn't even eat a mouthfull. If they'd charged us, mummy would give then a piece of her mind.

we were able to just walk off after the so called breakfast. by then, a greeter was in front the restaurant, but she didn't even thank us for dining there!!! lousy lousy service. lousy lousy makan. bluek>>>
