eight treasure tea 八宝茶

八宝茶 or eight treasure tea recipe , is courtesy of Chef Johnson from Long Feng... have been making for a while, but since i'm into blogging now, what the heck!


八宝茶料 Eight treasure tea ingredients


香片 Jasmine tea


菊花 Chrysenthemum flower


冬瓜糖,冰糖 Candied melon & lump sugar


洋参须 "Ginseng" root



龙眼 Dried longan



红枣 Red dates



蜜枣 Honey dates



无花果 "Flowerless fruit!" hehe.. Figs la...




Put all the ingredients inside a slow cooker, except jasmine.



Simmer simmer simmer & simmer...


Add jasmine tea...



yummy! all done!



I started boiling at 9am! I only finished the simmer simmer simmer process around 6pm!! Anyway, Chef Johnson would keep on boiling for days until it finishes. I like mine cold :) Papa calls it Pangsai Tea, 大便茶 cos of the detox cleansing properties of the yummy drink.
