mooncake season is here again :-) i looooove mooncakes! i also love those pastry thingie mooncakes & i like to
burn play with lanterns :-) i made mooncakes yesterday.
mummy had left over syrup from last year...
mix in oil & flour
till the ladle can stand on it's own
the no fun part is where you gotta let it set for 5 hours! such a long time... what to do... then mummy comes up with a torture plan :( as usual...
evil mummy asked me to peel the garlic!

after 5 hours, the dough is done.
dust the mold, whatever shape you like.
my hands were too oily to take pics... the pastry type.
pretty :-)
for the filling type, we need melon seeds.
rub it into the lotus paste & add oil too :-)
roll into balls... stuff in egg yolk...
wrap with skin & shape in mold. slam the mold to get it out.
so cute!
bake for a while & glaze & bake & glaze & bake....
no too long or it'll lose shape. let it cool & keep for a day.
today, the mooncake is ready to be eaten :-)

it's actually quite easy nowadays where they sell a variety of pastes & you don't have to make your own... also, it's cheaper & you can show off your skills... ^_^v

ohh cool! can u share the recipe? and where do you buy those ready made paste...
well, the ready made paste can be bought from AMIPLUS @ bukit beruang. same row as the church beside BB corner... they have all the baking essentials. paste only sold during mooncake season - all sort of flavours!
oh thanks haha ya amiplus... you introduce to me that place, remember? been buying baking stuff from there all these while.. didnt know they sell the paste also
i told so many ppl forgot d la ^_^ they only sell the paste during mooncake season. anyway, i hope u got the wooden mold, cos the plastic mold feel like gonna crumble everytime i slam it on the table :(
